Most
people don’t need to spend their time thinking of ways to get stronger, or to
get better at a specific activity like running. If you want to get stronger, or
if you want to get better at running, the best way to do that is by going to
the gym or going on a run. Practice really does make perfect, but for some
reason that isn’t always evident with other, soft skills, that you might want
to acquire.
It
makes sense that someone looking for help with their leadership skills would
need to practice their leadership skills in order to see improvement, but just
like going out for a run or going to the gym, the quality of the training
really matters. If you attend a low-quality training, just like going out for a
run where you don’t really push yourself at all, you’ll only see mild
improvement. That being said, the benefits that can accrue by going for a run
that’s part of a training program put in place by a professional, and using a
training program that you really stick to, can yield incredible improvements in
a relatively short period of time.
